Freedom Rides In Style Thanks To Las Patronas!
Big things are happening here at Thrive Animal Rescue, and our new rescue van is on top of our gratitude list! With the help of a grant from Las Patronas, Thrive was able to purchase a new rescue transport van which enables us to bring more dogs home from our weekly shelter runs. In addition, this will circumvent the need for outsourcing in the event that we need emergency rescue transport for local natural disaster relief.
As we continue to grow and expand our facility, having our own “set of wheels” allows us to save more dogs without tapping into our donor base. We will also be able to aid in the rescue of stray and displaced dogs in disasters such as the recent Lilac Fire, bringing them to shelters where they can be reunited with their families. The ability to go where we are needed is the gift that keeps on giving.
So a big thanks to Las Patronas for the wonderful work they do, providing financial assistance to non-profit organizations in San Diego County. They continue to provide valuable community services in the areas of health, education, social services, and cultural arts, and in doing so, they enhance the quality of life in our community.
And lastly, to our BOD member and in-house grant writer Victoria Shevlin Hobbs, our infinite gratitude for all you do to help us help dogs in need. Keep on truckin’!
